Angola
In the tip of the spear!
Every
day at Angola, thousands of children suffer for missing
a hugh from a mother, a father. They suffer because
of the hungry, the SIDA, the past and the recent wars.
The
name Angola comes from the bantu word N'gola, which
means a title given to the local governors from the
16th Century, the time that had began the land colonization
by Portugal. It was a portuguese colony until 1975.
It stayed under civil war from 1961 until 2002. Since
1975, the political power was on the hands of MPLA,
however the resistance (UNITA) had dominated some
part of Angola's territory until the end of the last
civil war.
Angola
is a country from the Occidental Coast of Africa,
limited at North, by the Democratic Republic of Congo,
at the East, by Zambia, at South, by Namibia and at
West, by the Atlantic Ocean. This nation includes
also the turbulent depression of Cabinda, by across
that makes frontier with the Republic of Congo, at
North and it the closest country to the britain colony
of Saint Helen, yet. Its capital is Luanda.
At
YWAM Ponta Grossa, in Brazil, we have been called
by God to bring hope to Angola. Our vision is to open
an orphanage at this nation at medium term. Nowadays,
we have been prayed for that and began a researching
and raising resources process, firstly, to get new
people and after to get logistics.
You can be part from this dream of seeing Angola different.
