China

“Once you were not a people, but now you are the people of God; once you had not received mercy, but now you have received mercy.” (1Peter 2:10). In the same way that God had mercy in our lives and loved us, we want to do this for China too.

We look forward to see how the Father will use us in China.  God spoke to us very strongly about transforming China, one person at a time.

“We are being transformed to bring transformation”.  This word of the Lord greatly impacted our hearts when the Lord gave it to us.

China  is a country that tortures Christians and puts Christians in slave labor camps for distributing Bibles or having a home cell group. China, a country that only allows one child per couple, requiring the second pregnancy to be aborted against the mother´s will. In China, many parents only want a son, thus abandoning first born baby girls to an orphanage or the streets.

A little bit about China

China is the country with the largest population in the world. About one-fifth of the Earth´s population is Chinese. To give you a sense of the crowding, if you lived in China, you would be sharing a room with seven other people.

In terms of twenty-first century evangelism planning, China is a great challenge having 500 ethnic groups, of which 438 ethnic groups have never heard the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Further complicating matters, there are 470 dialects spoken in China and about 400 dialects do not even have a small piece of the Bible translated into that dialect.

According to the Sepal, there are about 3,200 Brazilian missionaries sent to other nations, but of these, only 25 Brazilian missionaries are in China.  Of the nations with the most severe persecution against Christians, China is tenth on the list of  the most severe mistreatment of Christians.  There is an official registered Christian church which is just a puppet of the government.  Any home cell group, not registered with the Chinese government, is considered illegal, subjecting the pastor and members to possible loss of jobs, torture, imprisonment in slave labor camps, and death. Pastors of the underground Christian home cell groups are usually women, because men will often lose their jobs, going to jail, if the government finds out they are a pastors of a home cell groups. Then there is no man at home to support the family. So the Chinese Underground Christian Church needs our prayers, financial support, and letters written to Chinese authorities asking for release of Christians currently in prison and being tortured.

In YWM Ponta Grossa, we have the goal to reach the Chinese through the arts, dance, radical sports, and a pre-school program.  Our goal is to open a pre-school in this nation. Please join us in praying for this project, as we are in the research stage, and have started fundraising for the Chinese preschool program.
 We believe that God is requiring an open mind from us to be creative with new strategies to reach the Chinese people with the Gospel of Christ.  In this way, we can be witnesses of God´s deep love for the Eastern cultures. With more than a billion in population, Chinese hearts silently cry out to know the Lord, for the Holy Spirit to fill their aching hearts. You can be a part of this team to China.
