Youth With A Mission (YWAM)

YWAM is an international movement of Christians from various denominations dedicated to present Jesus, to this generation, using all possible forms to fulfill this task, by training and equipping young people, to make this Great Commission. As God's Kingdom' citizens, we were called to love, adore, and obey the Lord Jesus Christ, loving and serving His Body - the Church - and bringing His teachings to all men on Earth. Today, YWAM is present in 170 countries and has 16.000 full-time staff members.

Faith Statements
YWAM YWAM believes that the Bible is the Word of God being inspired by God himself, revealing that Jesus Christ is His Son, that the man was made from His image and similarity, and that we were created to have an eternal life. Although all men have sinned and are far from His Glory, He has made salvation something easy and accessible to everybody through the death at the cross and resurrection of His Son, Christ Jesus, who is That which represents faith, love and obedience. Attending to God's initiative of Grace, the Lord wishes that all men are saved and have the knowledge of the truth. This occurs by the Holy Spirit act, fact that is demonstrated when the last commandment from Christ is executed: “Go around the world and preach the Gospel to every being...” (Mark 16:15).

History
Since YWAM was founded in 1960 by Loren Cunningham, it has seeing thousands of people around the world getting involved at the fulfillment of Jesus's order: “Go around the world and preach the good news to every being...” (Mk. 16:15). Youth With A Mission is an interdenominational and international Mission, with a philanthropical character and engaged on the mobilization of young people from all nations to the missionary work. In Brazil, the service of YWAM began in 1975, with the missionary couple Jim and Pamela Stier, in Contagem-MG town from the southeastern region of Brazil). Nowadays, we have Missionary Training Centers established at in 20 States, with 48 operational locations and more than 2.000 volunteers serving full-time. In Paraná (a State in south Brazil), YWAM is present in 5 huge urban centers: Curitiba (which is the State's Capital), Almirante Tamandaré, Maringá, Foz do Iguaçu and Ponta Grossa.
